This department is responsible for collecting specimens, including blood and urine, from individuals who have been given an order by a physician for lab tests. Most of the specimens are placed into analyzers which perform the bulk of the testing. The Lab staff also looks at blood, urine, and body fluids under microscopes, looking for cells which can indicate to a physician specific disease processes. All testing with the laboratory is constanty under quality control to assure accuracy.

Accredited with the Distinction by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) since 1996, we are the only lab in the county-wide area which offers on-site microbiology testing.

Our equipment includes:

  • Dade Behring Dimension Xpand - chemistry & immunochemistry analyzer - state of the art analyzer which performs more than 50 different assays on blood and urine.
  • Abbott Cell Dyn 3200 - hematology analyzer - state of the art laser technology used to differentiate types of blood cells in the body.
  • Vitek 2 Compact 30 - bacteriology testing system for bacteria identification & antibiotic susceptibility.
  • Sysmex CA-1500 Coagulation Analyzer
  • Biosite Triage Meter Plus for testing BNP, one of the Congestive Heart Failure markers.
